JOHANNESBURG – TECNO’s latest POVA 7 smartphone series has secured the Golden Award at the New York Product Design Awards and the Platinum Award at the London Design Awards.
The Chinese brand said this marked its leading capability to integrate futuristic aesthetics with standout performance.
“TECNO POVA 7 series shows us just how expansive and essential great design has become,” said Thomas Brandt, spokesperson of the International Awards Associate (IAA).
“It also reveals a commitment to problem-solving, beauty, and innovation that extends well beyond the surface.”
The New York Product Design Awards celebrate excellence in design that enhances everyday life, recognising products that combine aesthetic appeal with functional innovation and reshape industry benchmarks.
The London Design Awards similarly spotlight digital and electronic devices that achieve outstanding creativity, elegance, and purpose, acknowledging innovations that elevate how users interact with technology.
Organised by the IAA, the competitions received over 2 000 submissions globally this year.
Tecno reports that the POVA 7 earned these international design accolades by bringing trendy technology for the young generation with a distinctive appearance as the core.
The phones offer a full suite of AI-powered tools – including real-time translation, call summaries, and AI-enhanced imaging – complemented by AIGC Studio for professional-quality content creation.
Powered by high-performance chipsets, the devices deliver ultra-smooth gameplay, ensuring fluid gaming and multimedia experiences, according to the device maker.
The series also comprises long-lasting batteries and fast charging.
